FLSmidth has signed a DKK950 million contract with ShalkiyaZinc to supply mineral processing tools, together with mill circuit pumps, for a greenfield zinc-lead concentrator at its zinc and lead mine within the Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan.
The equipment will rework the plant right into a world-class facility that efficiently separates minerals with a minimised environmental impact.
FLSmidth will provide two underground crushing stations with a supplies handling system to the process plant, a full package deal of comminution and separation tools, including SAG and ball mills, mill circuit pumps and cyclones, the zinc-lead focus flotation and regrinding circuit, including nextSTEP, VXP vertical mills, focus thickeners, and Pneumapress filters, reagents preparation and dosing space. Full plant automation can be included, in addition to installation and commissioning supervision companies. The new concentrator might be supported from FLSmidth’s new service supercentre in Karaganda.
Equipment supply will be completed throughout 2024, with commissioning set to begin by the tip of that yr.
