The EU Recovery and Resilience Plan launched in Spring 2021 is essentially building on the capability of European business to design and produce the building blocks of the dual green and digital transition. At the identical time, the EU is shaping a dense regulatory framework that doesn’t all the time support the liberty and flexibility wanted for corporations to develop and compete globally.
The European know-how industries, and specifically our pumps, compressors, taps and valves sectors, have for a very lengthy time thought of the enhancement of their international competitiveness within the challenges of societal and environmental challenges, notably by contributing to the preparation of energy effectivity and ecolabel regulations. In our specific area, that relates, of course, to the manufacture, distribution and use of pumps and all pump related equipment – a huge and necessary subset of business, given the width and breadth of pump applications.
Against this backdrop, one of the main concerns when determining the core themes for the joint convention was to keep up a direct reference to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Within this focus, the three associations intend to highlight how, along with the significance for corporations to address technical features impacting their every day enterprise operations, they contemplate the constructive role of trade in addressing societal challenges. Indeed, all of the sessions may have a technical theme matching essentially the most appropriate UN SDG, and with illustration from the European Commission together with technical specialists from industry and/or analysis institutes, they will each be reflective of the current legislative terrain, because it pertains to pumps and pumping techniques in the following key areas:

The regulatory and legislative landscape across Europe is becoming more and more advanced, and trade, in all its guises, must be aware and ready for what’s coming.
