Rotork assists BAE Systems in naval base actuator upgrades

Rotork has been working with BAE Systems to upgrade a sequence of A-range actuators to IQ3 actuators which function penstocks controlling motion of ships between the ocean and transitional locks and dry docks at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth (HMNB Portsmouth).
A series of A-range actuators had reached the top of their operational life after lengthy service in a difficult setting. BAE Systems needed to retain all the advantages of electrical actuators, so IQ3 actuators were chosen. These had to be specially tailored by Rotork to beat problems around confined areas and tough access.
IQ3 actuators and IS gearboxes have been mechanically adapted in order that both actuator and gearbox could probably be manually operated with out getting into the confined area. ที่วัดแรงดัน designed special hand auto levers and thru drive mechanisms for the actuator and gearbox to eliminate the need for confined area entry.
Actuators throughout the IQ range are watertight, providing ingress protection to IP66/68 at 20 m for 10 days. They have an advanced twin stacked show with configurable data logger performance, and an absolute place sensor supplies reliability and accuracy.
